AfroLeadership took part in the reflections on the National Integrated Financing Frameworks and open budgets for sustainable development in Africa

As a partner in the region on open budgets, AfroLeadership participated from 29 to 30 September 2022 in a regional workshop in Abuja, Nigeria, on “Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs) and Open Budgets for Sustainable Development in Africa”.
Organized by the Economic Commission for Africa, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), UNICEF Africa, and the International Budget Partnership (IBP), the event brought together senior policymakers and experts from across Africa to share their ongoing experiences in developing INFF strategies, holding dialogues on financing for the MDGs and promoting open budgets.

The overall aim was to reinvent the development finance landscape in Africa by moving beyond traditional models and strengthening governance systems to build a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.

The work ended with the development of an action plan for each country based on the three strategic objectives raised. In the case of Cameroon, AfroLeadership contributed, alongside the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Land Management, and UNICEF Cameroon, through its representative Joseph Anicet NKE to the development of this strategic action plan.
